BURGESS NO. 400 is a large particle size, medium brightness hydrous kaolin clay used in trade sales coatings and adhesives. BURGESS NO. 400 is a neutral pH clay exhibiting excellent dispersion properties.
BURGESS NO. 400 is ideal for SMC, BMC and pultrusion applications. It provides for smooth extrusions and reduces shrinkage of the final of the final part, while minimizing any increase in viscosity of the polyester resin. Burgess NO. 400 can also be used in rubber articles where cost competitive functional fillers are needed. NO. 400 provides improved physical properties over calcium carbonate fillers and is not reactive in low pH environments. Furthermore, NO. 400 can be used at high loadings with minimal effect on workability of the rubber compared to other soft clays.
